DESIGN GRAVEYARD: CONTAINER HOUSE

DESIGN GRAVEYARD: CONTAINER HOUSE

This thing is sleeping at best, one of the walking undead at spooky worst. The rendering is the bare-bones earliest look at what we had planned as step 1 on our march to global pre-fab domination. Not a DoubleButter project, per se, since there was a third Butter involved. Planned for a lot up on Clay Street, within spitting distance of Mile High (sorry, Invesco). Three 40-foot high box ISO shipping containers on each of the first two levels, one up top, with some steel-and-glass stick build add-ons, a green roof and (in our fantasy) active and passive solar. Thought better of the spec house when the bubble burst and put the thing on the shelf, or under ground as the case may be. Thought a side business (as if) of tricking out shipping containers with DB flavor at the shop, trucking them or shipping them to the site with a set of plug-and-play utilities and systems, would be grand. Still think so, in fact. Got a couple spare millions to seed the enterprise and make a go of it with a couple wide-eyed Pollyannas? Call us. We love to chat.
