Yeah, yeah: touristy, old-world-oil-painterly. Tell us something we don't know. But what the fuck? It's an extremely beautiful place and what's wrong with old-world oil paintings?
NEW YORK: SWITCH BUILDING
You should know that we had the idea for a "switching" facade independent of nArchitects, but to be fair they got theirs built and all we did was make models and drawings. Our angled bits were to be caps on shipping container ends in a modular housing context, serving much the same design purpose as in this fine building in New York. If we ever manage to build it, just know we didn't steal the idea, we swear.
SIGNS THAT OUR NEIGHBORHOODS DON'T SUCK: CREMA COFFEE HOUSE AT 29TH AND LARIMER
Coffee. Some of us get a little crazy about it. And some of us think a neighborhood without a good coffee shop is hardly a neighborhood at all. Enter Crema Coffee House at 2862 Larimer, opened by Noah Price (of DVLP clothing) a couple weeks back to the relief of the undercaffeinated of Five Points and Cole. Just down the street from Andenken, the soon-to-be HQ of Futuristic Films, and the freshly remodeled Good Building—and more importantly, in one of our neighborhoods, where things are looking up.
CINDER GRAY
Criminal, really, to have waited this long before posting up photos of Cinder, the most tireless worker around the shop. A ridge-backed menace on first meeting, a loyal friend thereafter (unless of course you make a bad first impression, or you're an asshole, in which case she can bear a proper grudge)—just the way she ought to be. Yes, it's true: this is the finest dog on the planet.
