PHOTOS BY OUR MOMS: DORCAS TILLMAN, PART 4
So word on the street is Dorcas Tillman isn't into our labeling her photos and subjects "pretty." Not sure what adjective Clovis and Darnell's mom would prefer, since this shot, though rocky, is still, well, lovely? Beautiful? Whatever you want us to label it, Dorcas, keep sending the images. We're feeling them. And keep throwing down since you apparently have our moms, Marcia and Donna, running scared. They haven't sent a single image since you sent us your first.

PHOTOS BY OUR MOMS: DORCAS TILLMAN, PART 3
More from Clovis and Darnell Tillman's mom, Dorcas, and more in the botanical theme of the last couple posts. This shot is again from the Tillman family retreat on Priest Lake in Idaho, and no, this is not an attempt to get an invitation to an extended lakeside vacation. At least it's not only an attempt to get an invitation to an extended lakeside vacation. The lovely weather is here, at last, and we're feeling the coming spring and summer in a big way. This bit of pretty is just a teaser for what's to come.

WE'VE SORT OF STOPPED ASKING SO YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS OURS, PART THREE

WE'VE SORT OF STOPPED ASKING SO YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS OURS, PART THREE
In case you haven't noticed, we haven't been posting much lately—we've been swamped and haven't busted out the camera to throw together the new. So this is what we get: a flood of a different sort. Madness, posing as art, by Clovis Tillman. No disrespect, brother, but we can't make heads or tails of this nonsense. Lovely images, yes; but what the fuck? Still, keep them coming (we know you will) and we'll keep throwing them up when we drag ourselves out from under long enough to write this accompanying blather. Oh, by the way, why don't you drag your ass in to the shop and lend your brothers a hand?

TREE HYDRANGEA

TREE HYDRANGEA
Again from our friend and occasional employee Clovis Tillman, this time dried tree hydrangea flowers, again pilfered from the Denver Botanic Gardens and again scanned with our slide scanner (at least he hasn't pawned it yet). Looks like this time he chose to crop the image with a bit of the 35mm slide frame revealed, giving a peak behind the curtain and a bit better sense of the scale.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SHOVEL YOUR ROOF AROUND A SNOW-CRAZY DOG

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SHOVEL YOUR ROOF AROUND A SNOW-CRAZY DOG
Yes, we finished, mostly, building the new canopy over the pad. Finished except for the gutter, and what with the slope toward the roll-up door to the shop any amount of snowmelt results in an infurating slow waterfall right where you don't want a slow waterfall. So instead of building the gutter we shovel the canopy. Yes, we are morons. But there's a bonus, at least for Cinder: an endless barrage of shovelfuls of snow from above. After the recent spring dump she took a joyous pummeling for about an hour.

CHEESMAN PARK: PART 1

CHEESMAN PARK: PART 1
We've said it before and we'll say it again: Cheesman Park is really fucking lovely. Really. We make a point to ride through it regularly—it's on one of our main bike routes through town—and it never disappoints. Except maybe lately, with the earth movers and safety fencing and what-not. Still, a wicked fine piece of Denver. Clovis Tillman snapped this photo in January, of some bush with dried seed pods that look like some strange woody winter flower. Sort of strange, almost studio lighting, which Clovis swears he didn't mess with on site or in Photoshop. Sweet shot, brother.

WE'VE SORT OF STOPPED ASKING SO YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS OURS, PART TWO
More strangeness from Clovis Tillman, along the lines of the tomato and thorns from a few posts back. This time a robot and some pretty blue pills, of what variety we have no idea. And why the robot? And why the pills? We suspect that there may be no there there so we won't bother guessing what it's all about. But still, the photo struck us as fitting for a Monday morning somehow.
