PHOTOS BY OUR MOMS: DORCAS TILLMAN, PART 2
Again from Clovis and Darnell's mom Dorcas Tillman, who came by the shop this weekend with probably the best pot of green chili this gringo has ever tasted. Sadly for you the recipe is a closely guarded Tillman family secret.

TWO-TONE TURTLE RECEPTION DESK

TWO-TONE TURTLE RECEPTION DESK
At ten feet and way-too-many pounds, this desk may look nimble and light but his looks definitely deceive. He's a dapper beast, no doubt, nearly killing us after assembly when, undermanned, we made our first attempt to load him into the truck for delivery to our friends at Futuristic Films at their new-old digs on Larimer. Too big, too, for our photo studio in the normal orientation, hence the sideways, sloping, behind-the-scenes photo above.

WE'VE SORT OF STOPPED ASKING SO YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS OURS

WE'VE SORT OF STOPPED ASKING SO YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS OURS
From Clovis Tillman, of course. Why? What? We've sort of stopped asking so your guess is as good as ours. This we know: that's a tomato, and those are thorns, and that's the tomato with the thorns stuck in it. Enjoy, we think.

OUR WALL GETS DOUBLEBUTTERED

OUR WALL GETS DOUBLEBUTTERED
The db cutouts we had made came back from the powder coater and went up on the rusty steel wall out front of the shop compound. We're biased, self-satisfied blowhards to be sure—but still, this is very fresh indeed. The rust and our standard blue and cream colors are fast friends and will stay that way for many years to come. Looks like we're now just a bit more conspicuous in the neighborhood.

CHERRY CREEK STATE PARK: PART TWO

CHERRY CREEK STATE PARK: PART TWO
Another shot from Cherry Creek State Park, this time for certain by Dorcas Tillman (we think that last one was too—very similar shots). A cattail, which reminds one of us of the time our dad hired us boys to pull the cattails out of the pond in the backyard. Ten cents a pop, or so he said up front. Turns out there was a proper load of cattails in the pond and the bill was way heavier than he expected. We recall that he never paid in full, offered up just a fraction of what was due (though the end of the story may depend on whom you ask). Still, what did he have against cattails anyway? We think they, and this shot, are wicked cool.

CRAZY LEGS

CRAZY LEGS
More from Clovis and the slide scanner, this time packing tape and colored film. Fresh, brother. Makes us think of cartoon legs walking in a crowd.

CHERRY CREEK STATE PARK: PART ONE

CHERRY CREEK STATE PARK: PART ONE
Clovis and his mom, Dorcas, spent a weekend on bikes out at Cherry Creek State Park last fall, taking pictures and talking about transitions. Vague, yes, but that's what they say. Summer to fall, and so forth. They took rolls of photos on film (yes, Luddites, both) of leaves turning, flowers drying, seeds exploding: transitions. This is one, more may follow, depending on what else we've got to post. A nice photo, we say, though we're not sure who was on the trigger, mom or son.
