BEAUTIFULLY LIMITED

BEAUTIFULLY LIMITED
Every week we have to tend to all the DoubleButter beasts around town. This usually entails shearing, shell buffing, shoveling droppings, or ice-cave maintenance. To our surprise, the RoadRunner bench guarding The 400 had been given a bit of extra flare. As we combed the icy dander from the RoadRunner's mohawk we agreed with the scribe that the bench is beautiful and sitting on it must make you beautiful as well. Moving on, the fellers from The 400 are featured in the new issue of LTD Magazine and mention DoubleButter in the write-up. Holler!

WHO THE FUCK IS HORSEHEAD CRATING COMPANY?

WHO THE FUCK IS HORSEHEAD CRATING COMPANY?
Since dropping the new site last week, we've been asked about Horsehead Crating Company more than we'd like—after all, this is supposed to be a DoubleButter site. However, since we're slavish fans of their work and since the boys did the design on the super-cheap, we've thrown them a couple bones and more or less dedicated the first few Sandwich posts to their exploits on our behalf. Now they want real payback—direct promotion. The problem is they can't seem to get out from under it enough to finish work on their own site. So they gave us the image above as a teaser, a teaser for what we're not sure. They say the banner at the top is a news crawl of sorts, the headings at left are sections of a blog-style accordion site with both found and original content, that wicked fresh pink and yellow logo is their new mark, and that OSB El Camino is, well, we have no idea. If you want the boys to give you some Horsehead love, call Darnell at 720-530-8760.

DOUBLEBUTTER AT THE 400

DOUBLEBUTTER AT THE 400
We recently built out the new spot for the 400, Denver's premier sneaker boutique, at 1535 Platte Street in Denver and are giddy with the results. The fixtures for the sneakers, hats and apparel show the product great, the birch-ply floor and back wall were fast and inexpensive and dramatically cleaned the place up, and the Groundhogs and lockers from the old spot on Curtis pop in the new room. There was even space left over for a few pieces from the production line, including a couple Turtle diners, Roadrunner chairs, Crane stools and Sheep dressers. Stop in to check it out. And while you're there, isn't it about time you got yourself some new kicks?

CRANE DESK DESIGN

CRANE DESK DESIGN
Clovis managed to take a few shots in the photo studio of a new desk design we built for a client. The base is powder-coated steel and the form is modified from our steel Crane table base. The top is solid walnut with our oil-and-varnish finish, with an undermounted box holding one drawer for pens and paper and an open shelf. For now, it'll be in our back catalog until we standardize it as a production product.

BLINGED-OUT CATALOG COVER GRAPHIC

BLINGED-OUT CATALOG COVER GRAPHIC
Darnell from Horsehead Crating Co. just rendered this new graphic for us for the cover of our new print catalog. Why a gold-plated heap of our furniture reflected in some polished-coal 3D version of our new logo? Darnell: ”That’s just how I do it.” As always, Darnell brings the bling.

CRANE STOOL TV DEBUT

CRANE STOOL TV DEBUT
Our friend Jedd sent us a funny note today pointing out that some of our furniture showed up on the Country Music Television show Cribs. Jedd was a little sheepish about admitting that he was watching the show—adding some nonsense about having it on in the background while he finished some drywall—but please, Jedd, there's nothing embarrassing about CMT Cribs. Impressive that Jedd was able to spot our work in the two seconds it's on camera. The space was designed by our friends at Polifilo in Nashville and the client is none other than Dierks Bentley. Yes, the Dierks Bentley. Thanks to Chris at Polifilo for sending through the stills.
